Public Creative Spaces are an attempt to creatively develop and promote dialogue and interaction between individuals or groups within and across communities. The purpose of a public creative space is to encourage the expression, exchange and confrontation of personal and social experiences in a way that leads to greater understanding, acceptance and change in social relations.
The Public Creative Space is simply an encounter of individuals or groups coming together to discuss, explore and reflect on a common issue. It is a space where ideas, feelings, thoughts and emotions can be shared openly and in all safety. It is a space of confrontation and understanding where it is believed that conflicts and antagonisms are best overcome through dialogue. Public Creative Spaces are encouraging the use of the arts (music, visual arts, performing arts) as a catalyst for the exploration of our deepest human experience.
Public Creative Spaces are spaces where true democracy is practiced through the sharing of personal stories and experiences, the clarification of motivations, the questioning of attitudes and behaviours, and the expression of desires.
Public Creative Space is at this stage an embryonic concept. If you wish to discuss it, please refer to the contact page.
