Jean-Francois Jacques is founder of Out-Side-In. He is a dramatherapist registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), teacher, writer and theatre practitioner. Beside his work for Out-Side-In, he currently works as a dramatherapist in a specialised NHS secondary care service for people with mental health problems in Hertfordshire (UK). He also has extensive experience of working with young people, children and families, people with learning disabilities, and adults with autism. He is interested in the impact of trauma on human and social development and in the application of drama and theatre to community building, dialogue and democratic change. Originally a teacher, he taught for several years in secondary education in the UK and Italy.

He has been published in the field of dramatherapy, has presented at a number of conferences and has facilitated workshops in the UK and abroad. He has also trained in Forum Theatre and Playback Theatre. He is a member of the British Association of Dramatherapists, the Society for Storytelling, and Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility. He is an active theatre practitioner and co-founded Indefinable Theatre Company.
